After attending this live course, participants will be able to:
- Incorporate strategies into practice to reduce the likelihood of misdiagnosis in common emergencies.
- Identify historical, physical, and testing strategies to consistently provide evidence-based care to a large variety of ED and urgent care patients.
- Enhance clinical skills regarding the day-to-day care of emergency department and urgent care patients.
- Enhance clinical skills for the delivery of care to patients with emergent or urgent complaints in a variety of ambulatory care settings.
ECG Boot Camp Workshop
After attending this live workshop, participants will be able to:
- Identify the ECG characteristics of the brady- and tachycardias.
- Recognize the ST-segment and T-wave characteristics of myocardial ischemia.
- Identify potentially life-threatening ECG findings.
- Appropriately address the management of selected ECG abnormalities.
Imaging Boot Camp Workshop
After attending this live workshop, participants will be able to:
- Correctly identify and address abnormalities on imaging studies of the adult and pediatric chest and extremities and the pediatric abdomen.
- Correctly identify and address abnormalities noted on imaging of the spine.
- Correctly identify indications for head CT scanning and address demonstrated abnormalities.
- Optimize the provision of care for patients with urgent or emergent conditions who are appropriate candidates for imaging studies.
Emergency Ultrasound Boot Camp Workshop
After attending this live workshop, participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate to the instructors the proper use of ultrasound machines and their probes.
- Demonstrate to the instructors the ability to perform each of the procedures to their satisfaction.
- Demonstrate to the instructors the totality of the skills needed to begin the practice of ultrasonography in the emergency department and, by so doing, optimize patient care and outcomes.
