The Advanced EM Pharmacology Workshop self-study program is intended for Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners and Primary Care Physicians who are interested in a “deep dive” into the core drugs that relate to the practice of urgent and emergent care.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of the Original Emergency Medicine Boot Camp program, participants will be able to:
- Incorporate strategies into practice to reduce the likelihood of misdiagnosis in common emergencies
- Identify historical, physical and testing strategies to consistently provide evidence-based care to a large variety of ED and urgent care patients
- Enhance clinical skills with regard to the day-to-day care of emergency department and urgent care patients
- Enhance clinical skills for the delivery of care to patients with emergent or urgent complaints in a variety of ambulatory care settings
Upon completion of the Advanced EM Pharmacology Workshop program, participants will be able to:
- Recall indications for medications commonly used in emergency care settings
- Identify significant interactions and reactions for medications commonly used in emergency care settings
- Develop plans of care while considering pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of medications commonly used in emergency care settings
- Modify plans of care to meet established guidelines for management of acute illnesses including ischemic events, infections, cardiovascular disease, and pain
- Develop patient education regarding medications commonly used in emergency care settings
