About the Workshop

The Original EM Boot Camp course now offers an optional full-day Hands-On Emergency Ultrasound Workshop. Come a day or two early and receive an immersive educational experience with ultrasound fellowship-trained emergency physicians.

Ultrasonography has become an essential skill expected of emergency clinicians. Formal training combined with the opportunity for intensive practice are the essential components in learning to be competent with ultrasonography in the emergency department.

Meet the Faculty

The faculty of the Emergency Ultrasonography Workshop are all ultrasound fellowship-trained emergency physicians who teach in some of the most prestigious emergency medicine training programs in the country. Under the leadership and direction of Doctor Teresa Liu, a course has been created that focuses on high-yield ultrasound procedures specifically focused on the ED patient.

You will have the option of registering for either of the following full-day sessions.

Tuition

Resident, PA, NP, RN tuition to register for the Hands-On Emergency Ultrasound Workshop is $895.
Physician tuition to register for the Hands-On Emergency Ultrasound Workshop is $995.

Registration Refund/Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made to the Center for Medical Education via phone (800-458-4779), fax (610-454-9494) or email (support@ccme.org) and received no less than two months prior to the start of the workshop.

Because space is very limited for the ultrasound course, cancellations less than two months prior to the start of the workshop date registered for are subject to a $400 cancellation fee. If a replacement for a canceled registration is found, the fee will be reduced to $50.

No refunds will be given on or after the start date.

Target Audience

This activity is directed to nurse practitioners, physician assistants and primary care physicians working in the emergency room or urgent care.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the participants will be better able to:

  • Demonstrate to the instructors the proper use of ultrasound machines and their probes.
  • Demonstrate to the instructors the ability to perform each of the procedures to their satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate to the instructors the totality of the skills needed to begin the practice of ultrasonography in the emergency department and, by so doing, optimize patient care and outcomes.
