Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
Explain the structure, scoring, and Computer Adaptive Testing (CAT) methodology of the NCLEX-RN®, including Next Generation NCLEX (NGN) item formats.
Apply NCLEX-RN®-specific test-taking strategies, time management, and anxiety-reduction techniques to optimize exam performance.
Apply nursing care principles across the four NCLEX-RN® Client Needs categories: Safe and Effective Care Environment, Physiological Integrity, Health Promotion and Maintenance, and Psychosocial Integrity.
Demonstrate clinical judgment using the NCSBN Clinical Judgment Measurement Model to analyze data, prioritize hypotheses, implement nursing actions, and evaluate outcomes.
Prioritize and delegate nursing care based on patient acuity, safety, legal scope of practice, and ethical standards.
Implement patient safety, infection prevention, and risk-reduction strategies consistent with evidence-based practice.
Apply foundational nursing skills, including basic care, comfort measures, mobility, nutrition, and elimination, while promoting patient dignity and independence.
Demonstrate pharmacology competence, including medication calculations, safe administration, monitoring for adverse effects, and patient education.
Apply the nursing process to acute and chronic physiological conditions across major body systems and the lifespan.
Evaluate individual readiness for the NCLEX-RN® through NGN-style practice, performance analysis, and development of an individualized study and remediation plan.
